Cascade Falls & Cedar Breaks

We decided last minute to go up the mountain and go on some hikes. Tom had the day off and so we wanted to do something fun. And we definitely had fun! First we went on a hike to Cascade Falls. It is a 1 mile hike round trip. The kids loved it and wanted to go on another one. So of course we did!

Taking a little break...it was sooo hot that day.

A little cave along the way.
This picture was taken along the way to cascade falls. If you look closely you can see the little platform were people go to be close to the falls.

We also went on a 2 mile hike (round trip) at Cedar Breaks. We couldn't believe how pretty it was! We have drove past it many times and never stopped. Now we can say we have been there!
Along the trail there were so many pretty flowers.
Such a beautiful place!!
This was the end of the Spectra Point Trail. We could have kept going further, but the kids were getting tired after 2 hikes. We stayed here for a while just playing and doing Kalex's Jr. Ranger booklet. It was so peaceful and nice since it was only us there at the time!
Another great view
This is a Bristlecone Pine. It is 1,674 years old!!

Another Bristlecone Pine
Here is Kalex signing his Jr. Ranger certificate.
And taking the Jr. Ranger Pledge
And showing his certificate and badge! It was so neat that one of our friends was the ranger that day! We are so glad we went there on a day that he was working.
Such a cute picture of my boys!!

  1. looks like fun! Kalex is a tropper to walk all that way...Tage isn't quite there yet. He still wants us to carry him after a while or insists on a stroller. :0)
